I had superbike size Chicken Hawk warmers on the Thunderbike SV I used to run with a 160 rear and they worked really well. Because they were slightly on the large side they wrapped around the tyre and shielded the rim too. I brought them as knew id be moving to the 600 the following year and it saved me having to get a new set again a year later.

I'd also add whatever tyre warmers you buy get a set of fleecy tyre sock type things to stop the warmers from loosing too much heat. If you are not in a garage they are a revelation and keep the tyres really warm and crucially allow the warmers to warm up the rims too.

Thanks for all the advice. Got sorted with a pair of superCorsas as a starter and bidding on some used ones as a back-up. Any recommendations for wets?

They are all good. Bridgestones seem popular.

Cannot see any in 120/70 R17 and 160/60 R17 sizes, unless I'm being thick which is quite probable!
