can I comment on corser and the BMW's?
Haga finished 6th in that race, so, he is getting better! ha ha

I think the Suzuki's were very good, Haslam and Guintoli showed that.

But, Checa made quite a good point on how strong the Ducati can be if you look after your rear tyre.

I hope the next race was as good as these two, shame we got to wait 4 weeks for them though!

I'm impressed with both the Suzuki riders. I think Haslam might need to up his game in the last few laps, because in both races everyone else seemed to speed up towards the end and he didn't seem to have a response.

Very impressed with Rea. He managed to get back up to 6th in the 2nd race after a little tour of the gravel traps. If he can stop making these mistakes, I'm sure he has the goods to be champion.

BTW...if you haven't watched them yet, aw well. If the races have been run and you haven't watched and don't want to spoil it for yourself, just don't come in this thread. Simples.

camier was really good actually, I was quite impressed. He's still young and the mistakes he made are those of a rookie, but to be fair to him, many of the experianced riders have made similar mistakes. I can recal a few times loris capirossi has run on at the honda hairpin, and he's a ruddy dinosaur!

I was expecting better things from corser on the BMW; they said last season the bike was really good, but they lacked data to get it set up well and do well. But we shall see how things go on. I notice Xaus lobbed himself into a gravel trap....old habits die hard

Careless...I mean, Carlos Chucker...Checa...(sorry) was another impressive paticipant; however, going on his testing form, I thought he might have been on the podium both times. An excellent race 2 win though! Fabrizio was scary threatening, but Haslam was a class act and despite clearly not being as fast, he was very defensive. I suspect tyre demise may have cost him race 2, and almost cost him race one. He was pushing hard both times from the off...philip island is demanding though, very fast - look at the smoke pouring off the rear tyre of (my favorite) Jakob Smrz!

Shame the two yamaha's crashed out of race one, and didnt have a strong showing in race 2. I am hopefull of greater things to come from crutchlow and toseland, but I wonder how toselands highside in race one will play on his mind; there is precedence for Toseland to become slightly nervous after those sorts of crashes (ducati traction control caused him to have a massive highside years back, and then before last season a couple of big crashes in pre-season testing left him unconfident). Crutchlow can undoubtedly put together stonking fast laps, but he needs to find away to put alot of them together, one right after the other.

An excellent season is about to unfold before us...

role on round 2, Portiamo, 28th March!!!

If Fabrizio was behind me, I'd be worried.

Excellent showing by the majority of the brits today. Bit disappointed with Crutchlow as I thought he would have fared slightly higher up the field. Same with the likes of Tom Sykes, particularly 2nd race.

Top result for Haslam though, and also enjoyed seeing Guinters up there. I think the competition this year will make for fantastic racing and looks like to be the competition to watch.

I'll still be looking forward to a good domestic competition, even if I dont think Moto GP will be quite the same.
