Factory warranty is 2 years, so it will just be exiting from that - will be worth making sure the dealer supplies something to match the backup of that.

Engine number 2 on mine had the oil rings installed incorrectly (upside down, apparantly) which caused it to drink oil like you describe - not quite as heavily, but it did show on putting paper behind the exhaust output. Not that it matters of course, now you're getting a replacement bike
