In case anyone really gives a ****, I have repacked and put the mufflers back to how they were. They reduce from 70mm down to about 50mm at outlet of end can. All I can say is that they are now quite a bit louder... ha ha.

Next job is to take the headers off and get some O2 sensor sockets welded on so I can get an advanced PC3 map made up.

That reduction bit is what may cause issues due to it reflecting waves, who knows... stick it on a dyno.

Before I did this the last user made it quieter by reducing from 70mm to 45mm in the first inch then opened it up to 50mm at the exit, so considerably more restrictive than reducing it over the whole length.

Like you say, Dyno. Get PC3 set-up then it should be bang on, then ill have to leave it alone ha ha.

I would guess if reflected waves are causing issue then there would be spikes and dips in the power at stoichiometric mix, if it is smooth throughout then job's a good 'un.

Yea, its still a twin system. It's similar to stock but has slightly larger pipes and longer mixing section.

http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/s...ght=falco+dyno

The op posts bike is pretty much the same as mine. He is the only other owner of the exhaust system I have. Rare huh.

It's pretty smooth from 3k. I think the slight roughness below that is down to the bike running rich. I know that if I turn the trim down it runs better at lower rpm, problem is that when I turn the trim pots down it leans out other parts of the injection map too much (or feels that way) anyway. The figuring out is getting the pc3 advanced map (map each cylinder individually) will sort everything out. Aim is for about 120bhp / 72ftlb and a smooth as silk throttle.

Wish me luck.

Not tried getting hold of a pair of arka's or similar as there is always Aprilia RSV silencers (twin set-up) on ebay would do quite a bit for the power gains.

But reading back there the system (or tins) been fiddled with for smaller outlets.

Good luck mate, NOS is always the final option

Thats the system im currently using, its a far better system than the stock in terms of the mixing of the inputs, the stock one is all sharp edges and tiny slit for the gases to mix.

Unfortunately the newer RSV (04+) wont fit my bike without considerable messing as the headers have a different mount... I wouldnt imagine the Akra's would be a great deal better than those above, though I could be wrong there to be fair.
