Welcome to the D90 Users Group then Brilliant choice there, can't go wrong with it, and it can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be. The best advice I've read for people coming from the old days of film into the world of DSLRs is to just put everything into manual mode (as it was before) and then try to get each of the new features one at a time (A or S exposure modes, ISO, then Auto-Focus options, etc) as it can be a bit overwhelming if you just start with auto-everything all at once. The camera will be making so many decisions for you it will feel like a glorified point-and-shoot.

That said, shout if you need any pointers.

Wot he said.

I've recently got back into it and more by luck than judgement I've started off in manual mode and worked up from there.

The next thing, that I'm struggling to master, is the photo editing - WOW!

Enjoy!

Congrats on a great choice of camera. I have the same and that lens does well for what it is. You have a lot of fun ahead of you! As Felipe said if you have any questions you only need to ask

Oh Anna, not just the bank account. I reckon they'd have a finance manager with a direct line to the Devil for the soul of your first born.

If we are going to suggest extras...

Other than the mandatory bag, batteries, memory cards, comfy strap (eg Optech) etc, I'd suggest a couple of good books on exposure, some grey and colour cards, CP and ND filters, maybe a lens protector (I don't/won't), SB800/900 if you want spend a bit of money (really worth it though).
