I picked up a tank bag from Lidl on the way home last night. had a look at the textile jacket but wasnt massively impressed so gave it a miss. I think the gloves from Aldi are better than the ones at Lidl, to be honest I was impressed with the jacket at Aldi as well but didnt like the colour. tried out my thermal t-shirt (also from Aldi) last night and seems well made and fit for purpose. didnt look topo closely at the thermals in Lidl but they seemed similair.

I was looking at the tank bags, i was wondering what you do when you get to where your going, just leave it on the bike or lug it about with you? im not a big fan of carrying stuff about so id probs be better off with a ruck sack.

Done about 200 miles today in wearing my Lidl compression top, Aldi wind stopper shirt and trousers and ALdi socks (with leathers over the top of course).
The wind stopper things definitely stop most of the wind but I was still pretty cold this morning but then temperatures were barely above zero. Not really sure of the point in the compression top it didn't seem as warm as regular thermals and the socks made no difference over regular socks my feet still got clammy.

![]() I was passing a lidl today so called in and got myself a rainsuit, and also the last Tank bag, and i can confirm that it does double up as a ruck sack if you unzip the base with the magnets in the rucksack straps are under it. |

I got a tank bag on tuesday and was surprised by what it was for £19.99
I only got one for the map pocket so i can stick my phone inside and see the sat nav when required. The rain cover has a clear window so it can still be viewed with it on and i thought there would have been a solid material rain cover coz of the cost. The build quality seems as good as my oxford humpback. I like the press studs that keep the zips shut but only time will tell with my heavy handed use how long bits stay on and in working order ![]() |

I picked up a rain suit on Monday. Really impressed for £15 but not used it in the rain yet. I've got it more as a "just in case" measure when I go to France in May.

Also go the rain suit, I'm impressed with the design touches for it being such a cheap item. It seems better than the belstaff suit I got a few years ago at nearly 4 times the price... Hopefully I never have to use it...

I picked up a tank bag, a couple of the base layers (my last top has lasted well) some socks and a pair of the gloves (the one that look a little like race gloves) figured they can't be much worse than the current *waterproof* gloves and have more feel.
All seems good enough for what I want, Wanted a rainsuit but they only had XXL in mens bt loads of womens (tried 2 Lidls near here)
