Watch out around Andorra, we were stopped twice for a routine license check (stopping only bikes). Also when we were getting closer to Pamplona, the police presence increased and we had a wee chase by an undercover , easy to spot though

Ah the Dukes Pass, if only they'd put some fresh tarmac on it you'd never see me again!!! Its the 2nd time I've posted it on the forum in 24 hours or so.

I'm also with Bibio and a lot of the others that the Kinlochleven loop is just amazing Only ridden Bibio's A86 the once in the wet (test run for this years GM) and it was brilliant.

I haven't a clue what number it is, but it's the main road between Civitavecchia and Rimini going across the middle of Italy.

I'm with Bibio on the Leadhills/Dalveen Pass. Almost every time I'm out these days I find myself down there. I tend to take the Mennock/Leadhills/Elvanfoot/Carronbridge route - the tricky bit first followed by the fast bit. For those coming up the West to the GM it's well worth the detour.

The A86 we're doing on the GM is also a cracking stretch of road.

I've never actually done the Kinlochleven Loop - looking forward to it.

I'll be having some of that

If you're talking Wales, its between A483 Newtown to Crossgates and the B4391 to Ffestiniog

Further north I love the A5074 (as long as its quiet) that drops you down into Bowness, like a rollercoaster that stretch

A must do ride when you're in the area is Penrith to Alston via Hartside and then the B6277 to Middleton in Teesdale, biking heaven

Without doubt its the road from Campbell river to Gold river on Vancouver Island. Not only the most stunning views anywhere but not a single straight bit in 90km

and if you see and any other vehicle you're lucky!

Home:

Kinlochleven loop. Dalveen Pass. Dukes Pass.

VS.

Away:

N260 Pyrenees, Gorge Du Verdon France, Stelvio Italy.

Kinlochleven loop VS. N260 Pyrenees.

N260 Pyrenees wins. Weather, length , variety (ie has also high speed stuff) .....and absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Still, we are spoilt up here though. So many absolute toppers, North to South.....and they all mostly link together.

Do these roads count? They are roads, just not ones that are surfaced with tarmac
