Its NOT a great product.

Look through this forum alone and you will see how many people have suddenly found that their shiney doesn't do what they want it to do PURELY because of a decision that Apple made to restrict functionality.

Its an example of great marketing.

The answer is NOT to jailbreak, you should NOT HAVE to modify a device that is physically capable of doing something because YOU who have bought something are then restricted by some arbitrary decision by the manufacturer that is PURELY to protect their future revenue streams.

Also, please stop questioning my right to post my views on an open public forum, why do you, having seen that I have posted a couple of times keep questioning my posting of my views.

I post them because all people hear about these products are how cool they are, they NEVER hear this side of things from the people recommending them, and often end up, as I have said, feel disappointed/cheated when something that the device should obviously do, cannot be done without jumping through hoops.

I own two tablets, x1 original ipad and x1 Samsung galaxy tab.

I have had to root the android tablet to make it do what I want.
I have also had to jailbreak the ipad to make it do what I want.

I also trial/test, configure and deploy all types of mobile hardware including phones and tablets on all the latest platforms/os types across the company I work for.

Apple and Android both have their pro's and cons to say one or the other is crap is just dumb imo.

They are both superior platforms in there own way.

What we do get is a lot of as you call isheep that just buy the devices without knowing what functions/restrictions then they complain.
And this is how most of the products end up with bad rep.

I recommend both apple and android devices based on the users technical knowledge and requirements.
also you spout off about android but do you tell the users that 70% of the apps are rouge ?
do you tell the users that they will most likely never get an official update for there device and the only way to get on the latest version of android is to root it ?
do you tell the users that they if they don't be careful what they install there battery life will just evaporate and grind to a halt ?

I understand now that I can't restore the old iOS. However, it's over a year old now, so warranty isn't an issue.

So, is a jailbreak worthwhile? I liked the old iOS, all I use it for is surfing the web and playing apps etc. however, the new iOS is so unstable and slow, I hate it.
