Not had a cig for a week now, well 8 days, feeling better already, nicoteine don't harm you, in reasonable levels.

I thought I'd try one of these on the strength of this thread so ordered it up and it arrived last week.
From a 20-a-day, 25+ year habit, no cigarettes have been purchased, borrowed or stolen since Thursday - including the ever dangerous Friday pub trip. ![]() I did stop for about three years at one stage but started up again about 5 years ago with the odd cigar and worked my way back to where I was. When I stopped last time I had that moment of clarity others have talked about and just quit without any problem - which seemed pretty remarkable to me and everyone who knew me at the time. Smoking's a bugger though - it'll creep up on you when you're weak - and it's been alot more difficult to stop this time round. The nicotine's not the big deal for me - it's the association of so many activities with smoking that causes the problems. A couple of tokes on the e-cig at those moments has helped but I've gone with a low nicotine e-liquid so it's mainly the routine side of things I'm having to work on rather than the drug itself. I don't intend to carry on with the e-cig - that will just shift the dependency - but it's keeping things on an even keel just now. I've tried a couple of times to stop smoking of late and was just being a bad tempered fecker. I'd say you still have to firmly make your mind up that you're not buying any more cigs, but the e-cig is definitely helping in a big way. Expect the pizz to be taken though. Non-smokers don't get it and other smokers don't really want you to stop IME (especially if you're finding it easy). Most folk have told me it looks ridiculous but I couldn't give a monkey's - there aren't too many things more ridiculous than smoking tobacco. It's about the most expensive and drawn out form of suicide I can think of. I intend to jack in the vaping over the next couple of weeks, but I'm done with smoking - and that's a pretty good feeling. ![]() |

Good man Tam! I've had mine for nearly two weeks now and in that time have had 2 normal cigs. Don't really know why I had them, but I did.
I'm finding the ecig really helps especially with the smoking association. I too have stopped a couple of times with that moment of clarity, but like you said it crept up on me in a moment of weakness and I started again. I'm gonna try and cut down on the vaping over time and eventually give up altogether, but for now I'm happy to be off the normal cigs! How's all the other ecig converts doing? |

Day 11 of nothing-------apart from suddenly having gain an insatiable appetite and constant nibbling and snacking, now up 6lbs.In most people that would not be a problem but due to dicky knees exercise is a bit of a problem so hopefully will ease off as the craving starts to give way

Right, i've been reading this thread with growing interest.
Can someone who has tried these e-cigs post some sort of figures as to what it's cost? I know health should be the major factor in giving up, but with the price of baccy nowadays and, from what I've seen whilst researching the e-cig alternatives, is there a monetary incentive or not ? Oh, and congrats to the abstainers. |

Teejay, you can get one of these http://www.vapeescape.co.uk/ego-t-90...ices%2A%2A~119 then all you need is some juice http://www.vapeescape.co.uk/search.a...E+10ml+Bottles there are other juices there, the pick and mix may be worthwhile till you know what you like. that's it just add juice, once you have your kit 10-20 pound per month, you can buy juice at loads of sites on the net, if you buy from him once you have added the items to the basket put allabout in the promo code box and that will give you 10% of the total bill and tell him (jason) that bluefish passed you on. also free p+p on that. good luck. Ah and ask him to change the little cartridges that come as standard with that kit, for vision ego's, these http://www.vapeescape.co.uk/vision-e...resistance~303 he will change them for no extra cost and they are much better, and loads less fuss.

And purely on a cost basis, once you know what you are doing, you can buy the ingrediants and make your own juice, there can be as little as 3-4 ingrediants in the juice depending on the flavours involved.

I got the Vision 900 kit from Vape Escape plus a mix&match of liquids.
If I don't buy cigs for another 2 days (which I won't) then it's paid for. At my current rate of use 10ml of liquid will last about 2 weeks but your mileage may vary ![]() |

i've also been reading/watching this thread and bought myself a SKYCIG - i got a discount code which gave you £38 off a £50 kit. the code, QUIT38 may still work if anyone else interested.
I have cut down my normal cig smoking but just wondering i seem to be "smoking" the e-cig constantly (when not having a normal cig). how is everybody else using theirs? are you have a puff when you crave a cig or when you would normally have a cig? (ever hour or whatever it is?) Last edited by SuzukiNess; 25-04-12 at 08:58 AM. Reason: brain dead |
