Please don't anyone go moving the essence of this sub-forum to Facebook.

7 years ago I joined an active bike forum, and I can keep up to date with what's going on by looking at that forum. Yes, there are other communication channels available, but the essence of the SM is on here.

I'm sure Facebook has it's benefits, but the argument that it allows for easy online communication amongst a group of people who already communicate easily online just sounds silly to me.

Added to that, and I know this must be a shock to some...not everyone actually uses Facebook

Chill...... no one is moving anything. I was merely asking why it's not on there. Purely because I am a member of a few groups on FB and so far they have been super useful. But as is clear, I'm in the minority here. Fair enough

While I can see Agy's point, I'm also in the 'Naah' camp for this one. I suspect that creating a Facebook group would just split us into FB users and the rest.

I've no problem with the idea, although I see stuff come up on facebook, then for the life of me can't find it again, or I don't get an update and only see a response, probably doing it wrong, but hey it's not my job.

Nope, you'd have one group posting on FB and another posting on here. Oh, and one or two wierdos who would try to stay in both groups to double their chance of a rideout.
