Completely agree!

Why go for the hard life with hassle etc when you can dodge it?

I would rather stay quiet and let him have his power trip than provoke him, which in my opinion is what you did. When he got annoyed, you didn't have the minerals to back your rudeness and arrogance, then ran to the cash point with your tail between your legs.

Guy was only doing his job, albeit he did over react, situation was entirely avoidable.

They have bouncers in coffee shops

I could neither say yay or nay to the OP being right or wrong in his response, the bouncer, was a bit ott though.

But.....if I was the OP, I'd have thought first about the consequences for the group who have met there for years. A letter of this nature draws attraction to the group, and the shop might not be so welcoming, due to one person being a bit weird and complaining.

If it happened often, then obviously an issue.

.
I'm not sure the bouncer posts on here.

Also that's bouncers for you. 90% of the ones I've met have had chips on their shoulders and more muscles than brains.

Because the OP cannot do anything about what the bouncer did.... (the letter won't do anything, and there is no 'evidence') but he can change the way he responds so it doesn't need to get to that point. If a copper said 'excuse me' would you respond in the same way... Don't think so unless you want to fail the attitude test. And, alright, bouncers should in no way command the same respect but they are there to control entry to a place that you want to get to...... Why be not just take the easiest path to what you want, which is to be inside.

he's probably writing a strongly worded letter to Kenwood or Hinari after trying (and failing) to withdraw cash from his microwave...

Ask yourself how you would feel if someone said"You excused" in a similar situation.
Would you become a bit annoyed after the 3rd time when your trying to do your job with the boss watching .
