That will be a reflection of the extra power and desirability (both of the Honda brand and the Hornet itself).

[Not to mention the higher repair costs in the event of an accident ]

This goes back to what Steveo said. It all depends what you want from the bike.
I rode test a zx6r when Kawasaki were giving them away just before the 636 came out and it was....................okay. Fast but a little characterless.
Maybe an aprilia RSV though........but again totally unecessary for what i really need if i am realistic about it!

Fine if you actually aspire to own a plastic rocket.................

..............I'd prefer a CB1300 or a Z1000

Extra power = 20bhp at the rear wheel
more weight = 9kg dry (a couple of fish suppers perhaps?)
less torque = 2ft.lbs (Wow, what a lot that is compared to the 20bhp..... )
Worse sound = subjective at best
looks = subjective (but the naked K3s a bit of minger if you're honest *runs and hides*)

Enough

We wouldn't do that - it's just that you couldn't be heard amongst the Hornet bashing
