I'd have one of the Aprilias, Mille or Falco, out of that list...

The SV thou is a real bargain,so why doesnt it sell like the 650?Id have one.In truth,I wouldnt buy an Italian bike unless I was rich enough to have a reliable spare.Id love a 998 mv Benelli but Ive had a Laverda and I know how highly strung they can be

Some say it suffers from the simple fact it is such a good bargain... there's a stigma attached to a good 'money for metal' deal that says you are missing out in some way.
Be it looks, performance, responsiveness, aftermarket value, or just plain machismo, there is a strange perception that you can't have a bike that delivers like the SV 1k, at its price tag, without losing out somewhere.

RiDE did a cover story on a few months back asking the same question as you... can't remember what their answer was though.

Oh dear, I'll have to dig it out of the 'loo reading' stack and take another look.
