With the money that both Yamaha and Ducati are offering him I seriously doubt that F1 is where Valentino is heading. So few have succeeded in swapping over and I have to suggest that he will not hack it.

We should all enjoy the times that he is racing bikes as truly he is something VERY special, they do not come along very often. However wait and see a real challenger when Dani Pedrosa steps up. He has everything that Valentino does apart from that very cheeky personality.

There are still a lot of races to go but it is all about the battle for second in my opinion now and I am keeping my money on Melandri to win that battle. If Rossi continues he will win by a record margin and I will be there to see the last race in Valencia as I was to see the first at Jerez.
There are likely to be a few retirements at the end of this season, the names Barros,Biaggi,Gibernau easily come to mind.

I think John Surtees is the only one who could claim to have done it successfully

I think Mike Hailwood had a bash and Aaron Sleight did to

at the end of the day i think we can all agree WE want to see close racing! its not valo's fault he's so much better than everyone else. my only prob is as randy mamola said "3 laps from the end he lauches his attack" and no one can stop him.as for the tyre argument rossi could have still pulled away on a knackered tyre (CUZ HE JUST CAN)

He's the dogs wotsit's as you would put it.
One of the commentators was actually working out that he could clinch the title by or at Donnington.

I would like to add that the Moto Gp race yesterday was very good, from the Sete/Valentino duel to the other great one involving Melandri,Hayden and co.
I said when Sete hit the front, he has to risk pushing it to try and leave Rossi too much to do in the latter stages, but he opted for a more conservative approach.

Rossi is a unique talent, and to suggest all of the others are crap is way off the mark, but if I was their teacher the half term reports would all say" Must try harder!"

You know that also there is a theory that Valentino has an incredible psicological edge over all of the other riders. He believes he owns them and most of them do little to change his thinking. The only guy I can see that is unaffected by this is Melandri with him being Italian himself. He is quick and very hungry to succeed and thus far is doing very, very well.

Peter - That battle between Melandri, Barros and Hayden was great, best part of the race

Did you see Sete trying so hard he rode into the back of Melandri...

I agree Rossi has them beat before they get on the bike as they dont think they can beat him, I am loving the way Melandri is disrespectful and doesnt give a hoot and tries his hardest, the sliding and sideways into corners up the inside was awesome

I am just glad Rossi is on the yamaha and not the honda, otherwise he would be a lap or so ahead

the guy is a genious RAW talent. I find him cheeky but not overly smug (unlike shcumy last year) he still has good words to say about his competitors even if it is cheekily spoken.

Marcos is good but i am afraid to say not in the same league as rossi (YET)

the batle for 3rd was awesome but it was a way behind 1/2 place .

nuff said ( can you tell im a Rossi Fan :P )

In MX...Joel Robert, Roger de Costa...and so on. There has always been one rider who excelled for a period, and it's always been down to the others to catch 'em up.

Well, it's hardly Rossi's fault that Sete has fallen off twice, picked the wrong tyre once, and put himself in the wrong place in the last corner once. If Sete wants to finish first, first he's gotta finish!! Don't blame Rossi - or Yamaha - there are six top line riders on Hondas that Rossi won on...only one of them has won!
