Well if that is true then I am really impressed with the deal I got. Can't see how the dealer covers his overheads if he only made £150 or thereabouts on my bike though... Guess he figures he will get it back on the servicing which he would but I live miles away. Mind you I would actually be happy to pay for a collect and return service. You say it costs £30, well if they said they would charge me £50 on top of the normal service cost then I wouldn't question it and happily pay for the convenience.
Going back to the £150 margin on my bike, this makes me even more confused as to why they wouldn't take a px and make a few hundred pounds on that?? |

Dont know why they wouldnt take your P/ex..mm cant answer that one!!.
No margins in bikes now because one dealer starts discounting and then the rest have to follow, the only other ways of gaining business over those that pile em high and sell them cheap is to offer good service, but that often costs money to do..so swings in roundabouts. |

As mentioned on a previous thread, purchased my new SV650S K5 (black with black frame) in May for £3,900 OTR from West London Suzuki.
Also got a good discount on the factory hugger, seat cowl and mushroom kit which they fitted FOC. Only proviso was that the Bike had to be pre-registered by the dealer first, presumably because there is an incentive from Suzuki. The first service is fully chargeable. For convenience I've just had the first service done at Crescent in Dorset, £117 inc VAT. |

........ forgot to mention. WLS also swapped the original tyres for Conti road attacks at the time of purchase, at no extra cost!
Good dealer to to business with. (I don't have any relationship with them in case you were wondering). |

Got the bike!
A bit different to the Bandit isn't it! Like the suspension is hard as nails and the riding position is totally different. Suspension seems to have very little movement but the ride quality is very good. Oh my god is it ever hard to move around the garden, no steering lock and it just seems hard to push. Really annoying having to stick to 5k rpm. The bike is deceptively quick too, the engine always sounds like its running really slow compared to a four but you open the throttle and it just pulls! I can see it will be easy to get caught speeding. Love the fairing, makes riding at 70 so much easier, I noticed though that without the wind blast I found myself getting really hot so this should be a good winter bike. At the moment I have new tyres, new brakes and its going to rain a lot so I think I shall take it out again when the weather clears because I need to run in the tyres before I do some proper all weather riding. My overall impression so far is that it is a very "loveable" bike. The Bandit was ok and it sounded nice but I feel more attached to this SV. |
