How about a change in the swinging arm? I think the box section looks dull at best, even when it's been polished up. It's not a patch on the swinging arm on my old CBR400!!

My front brake pad change needed Tim's old damaged callipers, a hacksaw and the help of Billyc as the pins had fused to the pads and there was no way of getting them out.
The fork lowers? Happens on loads of bikes, especially cheaper ones... And it's purely cosmetic too.

Do you wash it then just let it dry and not use any sort of protection? Even through the worst of the winter mine gets washed once a week tops, but I spray it up with Scottoiler FS365 of ACF50 (Scottoiler last year, ACF now) after to give it some lasting protection. Takes no time at all and it's really effective. Mine lives in the street while I'm working too, and our roads are liberally salted from about the end of september onwards so it probably sees more c*** than most bikes...
yeah, I used the scottoiler stuff too but it made no difference. In the end I sprayed chain lube on the areas getting the worst rot and that seemed to stay on a little better. Looked crap but can soon be cleaned up.

Hmm. Don't really know what to say to that... I can't see that your bike sees worse conditions on the road, and it gets looked after better than mine from the sounds of it, but I'm not at all concerned with the rate of mine's decline- the engine paint's a bit of a bummer but on the grand scale it's really trivial.

Better build quality, I don't like how my radiator is only bolted on one side!
Better suspension, of course. A comfortable seat, oh yes! Finally, a non horrible, ugly, stupid cheap plastic plate holder/turn signal...bracket...thingy.

oh yeah, a narrower radiator so it doesn't stick out in harms way and look silly as it's too wide for such a narrow bike.
