I usually get 140 - 160 miles...
But I'd think tank range also depends a lot on how long you're prepared to
faff around getting the last dribble in?

I have to say that my new 04 Sv is thirstier than my '99. I'm getting about 44mpg on the new machine, whereas it was nearer 50mpg on the old.

So much for better efficiency of FI. I've put the baffle back into my scorpion can on this fill up, just to see if it makes any difference.

I got 168 and a bit miles on my last outing *before* the light. I was amazed. The bike was filled up with Optimax at the Shell station at the junction of the A580/M6 near Haydock.

Rode all the way to the show at the NEC and back up to just after Knutsford before stopping at a petrol station. I stayed at about 65mph most of the time and didn't bother exploring anything above 7k RPM. This was with a pillion too!

My bike is an K4 naked with Yoshimura Cyclone can (unbaffled) and nothing else changed.

Shell Optimax is definatly the way to go. I can get approximately 30 miles per tank move than with normal petrol. I commute every day rain or shine through a mixture of dual carriageways and towns. My flashing light generally comes on around the 145 mark and stays on permantly around 160 miles. I can happily run it into the 190's and have drifted into a petrol station on 200 miles once.

My bike is a 2001 SV650s.
