And there's the point. Even with the best customer service, i.e. replacement, it's a pain to send things back, put a new one on etc. Personally I'd rather things didnt fall apart in the first place. Same argument with the BM ****s* who say' who cares if it breaks down, youve got a fantastic warranty'. May well be, but its the hassle. Excellent customer service doesnt make up for a poor product, IMO. And even if Fizz's problem was his own doing (which it isnt AFAIK...no one told me what 'mainatenace' I may be required to do..and I never even got fitting instructions) there's plenty who have had problems fairly swiftly, if I remember correctly.

*oh lookey, the swery filter doesnt pick that one up either. Buggar!

Just a quick point but if it's the road legal can they have to have packing that does not need replacing to meet current legislation.

The problem with all rivetted cans is that they blow rivets out - every make will do this at some point but certainly the Evo 3 cans from BF seem to suffer really badly and with cracking too - it's the fancy shapes of teh can (tri oval) that puts the sleeve under more pressure than a normal oval that does it..

Mike, everyone. as most of you know i had these similar issues on my blueflame can, nearly 6 years ago. My can fell to bits just 600 miles after fitting, then replacement, about 1500miles after that. I fed back to blue flame my unhapiness. I did recieve a complete new can, but it looks like they havent taken this on board and the same problems are manifesting themselves.

What i do find interesting is that there are a lot of cans on the market, but only one seems to keep coming up with faults. Although this might not be conclusive, but dont you think its interesting?

I never had an issue with Blueflame until it went wrong. It sounded and looked brilliant but thier customer service has never been brilliant, again fed back to the comapany.

I think pesonaly that thier product is not up to the pounding on a twin over time. None of thier litrature states anything about re-packing, but i doubt that any can manufacture does, as they expect them to fall apart outside thier waranty period! Cans on twins are meant to be repacked about every 6-8k. Considering the average is about 5k pa then its over a year.

And as we all know, Road legal cans should under current regs, not be take-a-partable in any form.

I've had a response to my email from Rod Geskell

"please return the can to us ( marked for my attention) for inspection & I’ll happily replace it for you under the terms of your lifetime guarantee."

So its going back ASAP, I'll keep you all updated

I think you'll find everyone in the business more helpful now as times are hard for most exhaust companies - sales for almost everyone are way down this year and several have gone under.

Also prices for raw matererials have gone up - carbon for example is up 30% whilst titanium is very scarce at any price - BOS told me yesterday they have simply stopped making ti cans now. Stainless has even doubled in price in 12 months...

Meanwhile there are now so many cheap foreign brands like Viper etc which are made in the far east for pennies that many find it hard to compete. So they will all try much harder to keep customers happy...

That's pants if you ask me... If he said he was going to give you a new one, then a new one it should be

I'd argue the toss, but then again, that's me
