Default throttle tube for 7.50

hello, where can you get the throttle tube from for £7.50?? i really want to know cuz i have just called a local bike shop who order in yam parts and they were trying to quote me £22!!! can you give me the tel number to the place you got your at that very very good price

Default R6 Throttle Tube

unless i was quoted on the wrong part?? someone did mention in this chat that there are 2 part numbers basically for the same part?? and the only difference is the cost??? sorry to sound dumb, i think i need to make sure the guy on the other end of the phone was looking at the same part i was??

Just ordered mine today with this part number 5SL-26240-01 and it cost me £7.57.

I cut it as shown in the pics on the website earlier in the thread. I couldn't tell any difference. I'm sure on paper/the track there is one, but I couldn't feel it. Not worth the hassle (and fear that after cutting it might have got stuck during use, etc.). Mind you, once I've been on the track I'll probably be glad I did it.

hi all changed my throttle tube to the yamaha one this weekend.took it 4 a test ride and found it pulls a lot faster through the gears.i dont think i will do any cutting just yet,see how the bike perfomers this week.

I think sv650racer was saying it can get stuck if you don't trim it a bit.

Perhaps a very dumb question, but wouldn't it be possible to get the same result by making the diameter of the stock tube bigger? For example by glueing some sort of material on it???

Yup. But it'd need to be hard wearing. This is how the cheap quick-action kits work, but they cost more than the R6 rocker does- £25 or thereabouts. You could do it yourself and shape the cam to get a more progressive throttle too.
