No, it's over-priced already IMO.

a Tsubaki O ring vs x ring, sigma vs alpha and should i be paying £87 for a chain alone, will it be worth the money?

worst case

£9.59 14tooth front
£23.89 44 tooth rear ( or should i go hard anodised for an extra £4???)
£87.00 for highest price chain

= £120.48 good idea?

is there anything else i'll need

Do you do any motorway or lot of top gear riding? If so, then dont drop the front sprocket. I did. Fuel consumption went up(Combined hooning, and the fact the bike sits 800-900rpm higher in top), and its a pig to ride on the motorway/fast a roads for periods of time for the above!

I don't think it's anywhere near as much as that, probably about 400rpm. From personal experience (and using the excellent gearing programme posted on this site a short while ago) I suggest that the revs will go up by approx 150rpm for every extra tooth on the rear sprocket at 70mph, so going down one on the front would be 450rpm difference.

Yes long journies will mean a little more fuel burnt, so it's a question of performance against pounds, whatever is more relevant.

i might get a 14 front and a 15 front with standard rear, and try the 14 see how things change, then stick the 15 on or vice versa, but thanks for all the advice.

should i go xring or oring?

It won't make a blind bit of difference. The important thing is to ensure the chain is constantly lubed.

Don't want to worry you but i had i hi-side on my SV once due to a slack chain

Got jammed between the rear sprocket and the hub

Why what have you fitted? If the chain is too tight you're likely to cause (expensive) damage (possibly to the gearbox bearings) and it could snap under load.
