Thanks for all the thoughts peeps as it gives a lot of food for thought. Ideally i really like the look of the new vfr and maybe the riding position is more to my liking....who knows.

I had the K3 SV for 18 months before I traded it in for a K3 GSX-R 600 after trying to follow Jimbo at AR05 and failing miserably. I still get to ride an SVs on occasion and I still think they are great bikes. A lot more people turn to look when the hear the noise of the SV than the noise of the gixxer.
As for the Bandit vs SV debate... No comparison. The SV is a better looking bike with a hell of a lot more character than the Bandit. |

Curvy... I prefer the look mainly, and I know my way about them better. It'd be naked though, I think.

With the screen on the SV you feel you are going slower than you actually are as you don't have any pressure on you. Trouble is that it also allows you to see how the bike lacks power at the top end. With the Bandit I'd get to 100 and be s**tting myself thinking I'd get blown off - so I was the limiter. On the SV you kind of sit there and think hmmm I can feel this thing really straining now against the wind resistance and it isn't accelerating very hard - I.e. you feel the bike is holding you back. The SV isn't a league above the Bandit, its just a better bike in the same division. If your Bandit is old and knackered and needs replacing and you want something similer but more modern and slightly better then the SV is the logical choice. If you are wanting to move up and progress to the next division then I think you will be disappointed as it is not that big a jump. |
