500 yards in 2 mins on crutches? That's about a six minutes a mile. Would like to see you try.
fair point, bit optimistic maybe, but i was trying to make a feasable (but somewhat flawed) point. it certainly woudnt take 10 minutes, what d'you think?

500 yds? five minute walk - take you longer than that to put leathers and helmet etc on.

Or why not run there and back a couple of times and forget the gym?

Why don’t you push the bike to the gym, turn round straight away and push it back to work. That way you can miss out going to the gym altogether and still ‘beef up’ !!

500 yards is only slightly more than one lap of a running track! I could walk it in 2 or 3 minutes so slowly that I wouldn't sweat.

It is more than 500 yards from my desk to where my car is parked in the works car park!!!

Well for someone who obviously goes to the gym a lot, you must be pretty unfit to sweat after a 500 yard speedwalk.

Just ride with no gear. Tbh you're not going to wear all your gear all the time just because we tell you to, if anything you're more likely not to.

if you were so keen on your fitness and the gym you would run for a warm up and get the blood in to the muscles which prevents injury, and walk back for a cool down. Getting massive on weights is not the way ahead, stay toned so less weight faster and more reps and more time on your hands to do cv work and keep the fat down so i think i would walk/run leave the bike at work... no wounder britian is a fat nation and catching up with the yanks(sorry you guys)

Not everyone wants to be (or goes to the gym to be) fit, some people want to be 'beefcakes', if you do lots of cardio it is very hard to keep muscle mass.

I think we are all agreed here though that getting on the bike to do 500 yards is extracting the urine!!!

you can still be beefy as you say, while doing cardio fit is not being a stick insect but having a good set of heart and lungs to move the blood round the body that in turn helps muscle growth so i would still run there and walk back !!!!!!!!!!!!!
