Nahh, it should have come across me being angry at first...

Then getting calmer and calmer, now back to normal ha ha.

Just the cheek and pettyness of it. Gits..

I find it vaguely alarming that ITV can control your film so extensively yet we as private citizens have virtually no rights over who films us and what they do with it.
Don't mind me,it's just my usual Big Brother paranoia kicking in.
I added this point to my mail. A walked round teh whole circuit and saw no notifications or signs. I've not seen any notice regarding this during my 15-20 years of watching motorsport both on TV and actually visiting the tracks.
Have a look at the back of your entry ticket, it usually states the circuit or there agents own the copyright to any images taken at the circuit. To be honest its much the same as trying to take your video camera into the latest blockbuster at your cinema and sticking it on a website.
I belong to a photography website and the issue of copyright crops up quite often, worth going to www.ephotozine.com and doing a search for copyright for more detailed information.

A friend of mine is trying to change direction and become a photographer. He's taken over 3000 photo's ofthe BSB this year but is unable to publish them, show them on his website et al because the rights to the photo's at BSB belong to Dorna and to publish them he would have to pay £4K a year to them. So he is allowed to look at them himself but not sell them.

I'd rename the videos and get a mate to share them on P2P, just out of spite.

I understand the legal reasons why they're like this, but what I think is out of order is how fast utube (or indeed, any other hosting site- even ones you pay for) roll over and remove your contents without even giving you a grace period to defend the accusation. I'm quite confident that anyone with an ITV/BBC email address (even if they were just a receptionist there), or indeed, anyone with the technical skills to spoof an email address, could send an email to an ISP demanding any picture/video to be taken down and the ISP would comply, without checking with you. Basically, they don't want the aggro/to get involved, so they just take it down and email you.

It is pafetic how big companys act, ive had a simular argument with microsoft when they shut down my second pc because i didnt buy a seperate copy of windows. Rang them up and they said even if the pc is right next to the other one you have to pay for a full license, stupid considering all i did was format the old one to sell it on and go to install windows on my newer machine. With big companys they get greedy and all they can see is money and the more the better.

If i was you give them as much hell about it as you can but make sure they cant touch you at all.

After all costs them time and money to be dealing with your emails and phone calls and chasing up legal documents.

We had this situation on my gf's machine (formatted old machine, tried to reinstall her copy of windows on her new one). I got her to ring up Microsoft to explain and fair play to them, they provided a new licence key within 5 minutes.
