The worst thing is people on big bikes who are slow overtakers. Was behind one recently whilst on my first observed ride with TVAM. This guy was on a Blade and was sooo slow at spotting the overtake and then carrying it it out it was a real PITA, mainly because once he actually got rolling he had enough speed that I wasn't sure I could comfortabley pass him without chopping across in front. As we were doing the A339 Alton to Basingstoke road I was more than a little miffed that he was holding me up. And the worst part was when he didn't overtake when there was ample opportunity!! Because of his previous rubbishness at starting overtakes I ended up sitting there not going past because I was worried he'd pull out into me. (He never once seemed to look in his mirrors or appear to know we were there )

So you have a problem with people that ride at their own pace, is what you're saying?

Nah , I think he was implying 'people that prevent others riding at their own pace'

Cheers

I ride at my own pace and find I hardly ever get in the way of other bikes.

The funniest for me is coming up behind people just plodding along. They hear the V-Twin rumble and moveout of the way(thanks) but once I'm past they realise it's only a girlie bike decide to up the pace .

In that situation I do sometimes try to make them earn their BHP

Cheers
Ben

It's only an IL4, blow him into the weeds, righteously.

Only kidding, perhaps I've been riding a twin too long.

Yes, even cars/van drivers seem to understand it.

NB1: Bikers who are out for the first time after passing their DAS may not understand this, even if you pull alongside and point at their indicators. They may show a sense of unease when you mistake them for your friend who has a similar looking bike/leathers/lid and you gesture for them to pull over and then box them in with about 10 other bikes.

NB2: If done at night, when following a large white van, the driver behind may just think you're using their headlights to entertain yourself with a silhouette puppet show.
