was it difficult fitting the front forks.
do the 98 Srad forks wit right on then with no other mods needed ?

Very nice...it's good to see a doer, rather than a dreamer.

You say that the wheels are lighter than standard....did you weigh them to check. If so how heavy were they.

So what you got planned next for it?

Its very easy to do, the easiest way is to use a complete SRAD front end and a bearing from Twin Works Factory (this replaces the standard top bearing so you can fit the SRAD steering stem).

More work that way as the GSXR stem is a larger diameter. You have to remove the SV stem, braze on some metal and mill it down to the correct size for the GSXR lower yoke. Then you need to create a bushing for the upper yoke. It is easy to do if you have the equipment or the know how, but surely simply swapping the top bearing is far simpler! You don't lose or gain anything with using either stem.

Here's one for you...

Do you use the bearings (the actual balls held in the cage) from the SV or should I use the ones that came along with the SRAD bits? (bottom bearing)

It's something I'd consider doing, depending on the weights.
