Whiskey a go-go

So, anyway, now that we've established that we're all alcoholics... Go read Iain Banks' "Raw Spirit", it's an excellent cross between a travel book, a driving (and occasionally biking) book, a whisky book, and a pointless amusing stories book.

I have that book on my shelf too!! What a job he had!! Drive around a bit, drink some whisky, then write a book about it!!

Kilted Ginger mentioned Innes & Gunn - mmm nice slightly chilled - that subtle aroma of fine whisky, but in an ale!! Great!

I've never had Jameson's, but Bushmills is rather scrummy...

I must admit that I am partial to a bit of Paddy from time to time

Just been to get some food from tesco and theyre knocking out 15 yo French Oak Glenlivet for £14.99. Its a little same same kind of whiskey but its nice all the same and a bargain!

yeah whiskey is was just the irish spelling. i'll happily sit down with a bottle of jim beam (very happily) but bourbons bourbon, whisky is whisky, and southern comfort is a caramel liqeuer (which has whisky in). they're completely different drinks! (enjoy responsibly - don't add anything to it)

I dont touch the East coast malts any more, once sampled the West coast ones are much more to my taste.

If you are up west, try the Stronlosset near Roy Bridge (Foer William ish) for a good selection.

If you have money to burn in London, the Samuel Peeps in Park Lane, last time i was there it had the UK's largest selection of malts, from expensive to stupid prices.
