They certainly look nice, and the riding position is very tourer compared with the SV(s). I was interested in one, but never rode one. I hear that you really have to pin the throttle and thrash the nuts off it to go anywhere. Anyone ridden one enough to know if that's true?

Yeah, ride what makes you happy and screw everyone else.
I too am suprised at how good that looks I normally hear "topbox" and think.

I've stopped asking Bandit owners what they think of them, as they invariably then waffle on for about 4 days about how brilliant they are.

I have a mate who bought one just after they came out, he's on his 3rd or 4th now.

Skip, so true, sorry I meant a local meet down here. The only SV meet i done was a really good day I thought. never know, may have to do another one on the bandit, see if its acutally quicker

Aye very tourer style, but I guess for what i'll use it for its perfect..

Bought it from Lagunas in Maidstone. They have others in there, but they are all up for £4200+ without ABS and hard box. Pater managers to squeeze him I think though

I asked if the Granny in the adverts was an optional extra, she doesn't come with it though

Just not looking forward to super slippy tyres, and sub 3000rpm (probably) run in period now I'll take some snaps when i pick her up.

I've heard mixed opinions about Laguna's... a mate of mine who rides a h*nda reckons they're the best for after-sales but then some other mates on triumphs dont rate them at all

Personally I have found the sales staff to be somewhat aloof and not always the most approachable. Hope you have better dealings with them though

Yeah, i've had mixed opinions, but tbh, i've got mixed opinions about a lot of places..

Aye Gee's, heard some very bad stuff, but they have been nothign but excellent with me. Bought some kit, 4 months later it failed, took it back. They didn't stock that kit anymore so gave me a the new replacment which was worth £15 more. Always been helpfull??

Bates, dad's know him for a good 20 years, bought loads of bikes. TOok the SV there when i first got it to keep up FSSH, but they ruined the bike, didn't greese bolts up (so locked on and was a NIGHTMARE to take off)...

Guess Lagunas is the same, but my old mans well in the know with his bikes so i trust anything he says or suggests...

Now his Benellis been written off, he's just bought a special edition MVAugusta (Carbon fibre jobbie, semi slicks etc)... He's been riding and since 16, national race license etc... Used to strip his race bike in the living rooom during winter etc He helped/done most of my SV engine swap as well while still recovering from 2 slipped disks in his back

What a lovely bike. Did you take those great photos?
I had a loan bandit 600 for a week and thought that it was a great bike. I can only imagine that the 650 is even better.
