you made agood choice, it's an awesome piece of kit. I'll dig out my settings if you like - how heavy are you? I've got the length adjuster at full for quickest steering - no probs with twitchiness.

You're only doing it because you want to be more like me...

I'm guessing the Ohlins is the only direct replacement rear shock which is of substantial improvemnt is it? In 'direct replacement I mean that the ride height is not altered if not required and that no cutting in plastics is required.

WP and Penske too, and probably Technoflex though I've no personal experience of those. They look to be a direct Ohlisn ripoff anyways Most people consider the Penske twin superior to the equivalent Ohlins, and the Penske triple has seperated hi-lo damping on top of that- though costs about another 50% on top.

I'm 12.5-13 stone in the nod ... if you are about the same weight and set the sag up correctly, then yeah dig out the settings, it'll give me a starter for ten if nothing else It'd be nice to have the preload pretty much set when I put it on as setting the sag is quite a bit of humping and shifting

I might even get round to putting it on at some point

Anyone else got some base settings I could start with (SV650Racer?? ).

So I'm guessing the Ohlins is the best practical choice if you wanna improve right? Looks great too!

If I was buying new, I'd get a Penske 2-clicker, myself... Even leaving aside performance they're more durable,. But then, Ohlins will hold its value miles better, and there's more Ohlins ervice agents out there in the UK. Ohlins are more blingy too

Over at the SVrider forum, the yanks swear by their Penskies. I guess they're loyal to the American product mostly. It is American right? But then again, they must be good as they're highly used in racing environments and seem to last longer and are stronger as you've mentioned NW.[/list]

I doubt I'd notice any real difference in performance... They seem to come better set up for the "average" rider, but that's a bit of a straw man I reckon, since if you're spending £400 on a shock you'd want it set up right anyway. But the durability/service periods would be a real selling point for me.

Then again, blinginess is near to godliness
