The important thing thats being missed on this thread is that the bike has been serviced.

OK the cost was a tad high by some comparisons but if the schedule states plug changes (in a year) then thats an extra half hour labour I guess to get access to the rear cylinder spark plug so that cost might not be so bad.

From experience I'd consider either JHS Racing in Brizzle or George White in Swinedon for my work. Bike Treads in Swindon are good for tyres but can be inconsistant on both priceing and quality of work, they did OK on my bike though for tyres last time.

1) Lift tank
2) There it is!

Front's a bit more fiddly though totally agree with you, I think "ripped off"'s a bit steep here, maybe not fair at all.

That's why I wrote "ripped off?" and not "ripped off!"

That was more aimed at the people who're a bit too fast to condemn dealer servicing than yourself...

Not to say I use a dealer myself, I've done my own for years... But people like to think that it's as simple as following the service guide and that anything extra is a ripoff, or that anyone who can work through the list can adequately service a bike, and it's just not so... If only it were that simple Hands up anyone who's taken a bike in for a tyre change and had the dealers notice something that you'd not just because you'd grown accustomed to it over time...
