Garage take it to one, theres something odd going on with your bike, if you can't follow the disarm procedure or your alarm is knackered then you're not going to get anywhere.
Sorry to disappoint you but if it were my bike and I'd checked all the basics I'd now be giving up and getting an expert to look at it...

Oh by the way did you try your 2nd alarm keyfob or are you still using the one you normally do ?
Failng that whereabouts are you located, somebody might know somewhere local that dont charge the earth for labour, failing that if you are near to a forum member called "Spanerman" drop him a PM and see if he will come out to you, he's helped other people out with sevicing etc and taught them how to do stuff at the same time so you might be able to learn something from him in the process..

Has it done that since you started having problems and the fuel rail not priming ? you should have said so at the start if thats the case.
When you turn the ignition on, do you get no lights on the dashboard are the headlights on ? It might be that the main fuse has gone which isnt in the same place as the rest of the fuses... I'm not sure on the K4, but if you look in your user manual or search the forum for it you should find out where it is. That might have blown...

I took great pleasure in removing my immobiliser this year, and annihilating it with a shovel

You cant, you'll have to remove the whole alarm and associated wiring from your bike, now seeing as the Meta is Thatcham approved this is not an easy task or one that should not IMHO be undertaken by somebody with little or no mechaical knowledge. I.e YOU.
I'll say it again for the third time. Have you tried de-activating your alarm with your spare keyfob, you should have two, TRY THE SPARE ONE. The battery could be flat in the one you are using and thats why your alarm is behaving weirdly. Have you checked the Main fuse in the bike like I told you to either. These are both basic and free things you could try even if you try them and they dont fix it you are narrowing down the problem for the garage when you do take it in so you are saving money that way.

Fact... It's not brain surgery, but it took some time and focus. I agree with Fizz, sometimes it makes sense to get the pros in. I started out working on bikes by fixing my Virago with its completely knackered electronics and immobiliser, but that was in at the deep end and a long and frustrating process, can't recommend it.
