That's probably the best way to do it, else you'll be spending your life polishing out the proverbial turd... wet & dry to get the rough part out, then autosol the life out of it.

Just what I thought. I'll step to it when exams are done and I can spend a Kwak amount of time on it

Get one of them pan scourers, looks like a load of swarf. Have at it with that and then autosol. Note the professional bike cleaners seem to use power tools..........
