That went well I thought! Wing mirrors aside. Just going to start sorting out the vids, though I think the one of me and Jimmy coming from Innerleithen to Edinburgh might not be for public consumption
![]() As for the "controlled" element, well... TBH I don't think it worked very well. The second leg was good, but the most fun I had all day was when we dropped off the back of the rideout. Also, leaving aside the pace and the bunched-upness, I think there were still some big drawbacks- if we'd lost someone from the back, we'd be no better off than usual since it was so common to get gapped (well, Tony and Ralph were doing it on purpose!). If you slowed for the person behind, you'd end up losing the person in front and being dependant on the next turning being marked, or on catching up, things like that. And that's the same disadvantage as you get with a completely unmanaged rideout, but with extra hassle. But then, it was a big group- with a smaller group it would have worked perfectly since the top and tail would be able to see most of the group, we've used this method to cover distance often enough. REgardless of all that, great rideout, maybe I should turn up for some more? ![]()

I know how you felt KK - bloddy cage drivers!! I thought the section form bigger to moffat was better but maybe that becuase iwas up front for once. I think Tony was right (no u can't have that in writing)
Good day though - highlights - Jims landing on the roof again, certain people getting lost Rabs - only a hand job quote and my momentous overtake adnd to think you lost would have normally missed that and i would have been celebrating onme own! |
