Wheyhey! He's already got a org log in! At one week old he's got to be the youngest member ever

He's not been too bad at all so far, he's very chilled out and easy going. Third night last night and we got a good 3 1/2 to 4 hours sleep at a time. Might get to that Aviemore rideout after all....

Ahh mate classic mistake.

Y'see the first wee whiley the wee fella is really about as docile as it's posible to be. He's still recovering from the big journey. Then all of a sudden he'll realise the connection between him wailing and attention from you both or anyone else within screaming distance. Thus, you're really at the honeymoon stage so to speak.

I ought to mention that this is exactly what I've been warned happens, as opposed to being drawn from my experience. Hence we are quite happy 'practicing' for a good while yet.

Midwife reckons the "recovery from journey" stage is only a couple of days and hence should be past by the time they come out of hospital, however, from now on he's into the "building strength" stage and that could mean more screaming ability very soon!

Midwife again reckons they don't get the seeking attention thing just yet, but advice from other parents on at how many months they figure that one out at is very welcome!! A book I read reckons 9 months but I think they were just being PC and not wanting to be seen to incourage parents of young babies to "let 'em scream"! The book did say though, let 'em scream undisturbed for 45 minutes 1st night, 30 mins 2nd night, 15 minutes 3rd night, 5 minutes 4th night, and the 5th night doesn't happen 'cos everybodys asleep.

I live day by day in anticipation and hope! The truth in practice could be very different.
