Hope the leg isn't too badly broken. Get mobile as soon as you can, start putting weight on it as soon as your consultant says you can (partial weight bearing they call it) and exercise as much as you can. Don't sit around or it'll take twice as long to fix

show us the X-Rays - hope it's not as bad as mine (see link in my sig)

Paws, **** me you really arent having much luck are you! get well soon and keep your chin up!! dont worry about the bike, it can be replaced. make sure you put in a formal complaint about the standard of the 3rd partys driving (so they get prosecuted!) dont be fobbed off by plod either.

Don't be tempted to claim too early, you've got 3 years. You might have a crash related problem show up in a year or so that has bigger effects on your life than you thought and if you've already settled there's nothing you can do about it.

cheers guys, feeling rather rough at the mo feel quite sick and tired, tsm is being a star-helping me learn how to get up and down stairs with crutches and when i cant face it (tired/sick/pain) hes supported me.
