Let me see based on water;
I can have a scale that starts at 32, goes up to 212, and thus has 180 divisions. Or I can have a scale that starts at 0, goes up to 100, and thus has 100 divisions. Alternativly I can have one that is based on the absolute properties of matter that no-one except scientists use. Centigrade it is then. |
