Re: The All New Megathread
The weather is looking reasonable today. Time to blow off my biking cobwebs and go for a ride. I've seen an FB post on a bike shop/cafe called Soul Dragon just outside Newport (NR Telford) so might go and investigate that.

Morning all. Cold, clear, frosty and blue skies; my favourite sort of winter morning.

Re: The All New Megathread
Just back from my second funeral in two weeks. My brother in law this time so it was a whistle-stop visit to the Holiday Inn Express in Shrewsbury last night, as its five minutes from the crem for the 11:30 service, then a wake just outside Oswestry. It was a lovely day weatherwise and lovely to be in Shropshire again, even though it was for a painful reason.

Re: The All New Megathread
Sorry to hear about your brother in law Trevor. I hope the wake was a suitable celebration of his life.

Re: The All New Megathread
Evening all, hope everyone's had a good weekend. Been a bit mad here, driving back and forth between home and Oswestry. Spent half the day today catching up with jobs I haven't got around to doing over the last few days. All pretty much up to date now thankfully.

Re: The All New Megathread
Morning Gary. No plans, and that's the way I like it it. Although I'd prefer it if the weather forecast was more promising.
As I'm a sad sort who makes a note of which days I've ridden on and the distance, checking back over previous years gives a reliable indicator of how kind the weather was: if I had a ride on a particular day, it shows the weather and the roads were dry for several hours on that day. For example, last year I only managed 4 rides in total during March, showing the month was mostly rainy & wet. In contrast, in 2022 I got out on 20 (twenty) days in March. So far, this year seems to be following the pattern of last year ... |

Wet around here. If this is the weather pattern going forward I will make the effort to SORN the bike during the winter. Only got round to it this year when I decided to tackle the carbs.

Re: The All New Megathread
Well it was grey all the way around my walk but no rain I'm pleased to say. The roads are actually pretty dry too.

Re: The All New Megathread
Pretty drizzly on and off all morning and still lots of flooding on some roads, so may be another week or two before Hugh pokes a wheel out of the garage. Getting itchy feet to be riding again I must say...
