Well that was a pretty tiring weekend. Down to my sister's family smallholding for my nephew's 50th birthday celebrations. Best part of 100 miles each way and much more tiring in the car than on the bike.
Good weekend though. My family is pretty damn big and most of them were there, so it was nice to catch up with everyone.

I was going to have today off to recover but ended up doing a gardening job for someone. Lazy(er) day tomorrow I think.

It's June. It's fifteen days from the solstice. There's a Northerly wind blowing. I have the heating on. The Met Office is predicting the wettest summer in 100 years.

I think we are in trouble.

Ours came on yesterday! I've turned down the thermostat as I'm not having that! But wearing a jumper indoors in summer is a bit mad.

it might be time for a bit of a rethink. I was extending the veg garden but the only thing doing well at the moment is the slugs and snails! On top of that I fell twice last week and have hurt some lower ribs and my foot has lost some feeling, so its .back to the Docs tomorrow. We switched the heating on for a blast yesterday afternoon as I could not face being cold.

Beer traps and slug nematodes will deal effectively with the slugs RT.

tried beer traps - not much spare here plus I was catching too many beetles. will have to try nematodes. Wife had her credit card cloned son she has been awaiting a replacement. (Good for the bank balance though)

It's cloudy but still pretty warm here, so no heating coming on for us, until this afternoon when the Cadent engineer switched our supply back on and asked us to crank it up to make sure the boiler was happy. Thankfully it was all good so we could switch it straight back off again.

It did actually warm up by the afternoon to be fair. It encouraged me to get into the garden and do a few jobs.
