I admire a lot of Carricks play, however Hargreaves is the better tackler and in the holding role this becomes ever more important the better the opposition. Of course, you could play both and drop Lampard who, for me, just hasn't turned up at this World Cup.

after my awesome prediction from a couple of days ago - brasil going out to ghana - put yer money on this one

rooney and lampard to both score saturday, robinson man of the match.

conrad, totally agree about lampard, been shocking. but there's always that doubt about dropping a player that good, (and lets be honest he is good), and i feel saturday he and robinson will come to the party

I'm a Chelsea fan and think he's brilliant there. However he has been pants in this tournament, bit of a glory boy. Though I think he will come up with goods soon.

Law of Sod, he's got to start playing well at some stage.

Interesting to see a couple of the referees are not required for the rest of the tournament after their lacklusture performances.

the mighty graham 3 card trick poll being one of them.

and the nutter ref who dished up 16 yellows and 4 reds in a game with 22 fouls in total!

Keith: Lampard is good. At Premiership level. I cannot recall ever seeing him dominate a game in the Champions League, let alone international level. He's scored goals but take those away and there's precious little left. For me he should be Gerrards understudy and nothing more.
Like I say, his form dictates dropping him, but I share your view that he can't keep missing them forever.

Not complaining too much as we're in the quarter finals with 3 of our 4 first choice midfielders performing way below par! I just hope we get some big performances on Saturday from all 11.
