Everything seems fine apart from me. Will just get loadsa practise in, my confidence just kept disappearing on corners. Even orose noticed my questionable lines.

Yeah hands were warm enough cheers, gloves must be doing their thing

Get out with us lot next weekend and hopefully you may feel relaxed just having the laugh at the end of the road in the bunkhouse to look forward to. I should imagine Olly was good to be out with actually, we've been on a few group rides out together.
The first long run outs always a bit nervous....you think something might drop off. Ya silly billy, that rod won;t have given you much help!

ps, no need to feel you need to act like a peforming seal either.....it all comes back, when 'your' ready

Carry on taking it out, the confidence will be back in time and the smoothness with it. This weather won't help matters either.

if its any consolation, I don't ride when theres a bit of snow. I don't mind the cold though. keep your fingers crossed it don't next weekend, because if I find it when i wake up Sunday, I'll be waiting until its all gone!

Only the brave venture out at this time of year, so your well on your way to recovery!

Aye olly's a good rider, was too aware I was not and was pretty slow/shaky. Everytime I went for a corner I seemed to chicken at the last minute and thought the bike was going to slip out from under me...although yeah the gear lever suddenly dissappearing just as I wanted to pull in front of a car at 70ish didn't feel great.

hope so , just gotta re-learn the bike.

I must admit, there were some questionable conditions out there - the worst of it being the snowmelt running off the hills straight across the roads. I thought the first time I saw it that there was a bust water main up ahead.

That sort of thing knocks your confidence a little straight away, because you're not sure whether its water or ice initially. Once you've taken that knock, it takes a bit of time to get it back, but the next bend is just as bad.

guuuys, bikes ****ing me off again. From cold it has a weak tick (stalled changing down a gear 1 minute into a ride earlier) so I have to hold it on revs until I've done about 3-5 miles. Then when it's up to temperature it'll run alright but holds it's revs about the 2k mark. I've had problems like this before but a bit more extreme which was the choke seizing. When it's warm it'll tick about 1.5 k but if I give it a quick rev it'll go up drop to 2k hold it there for a couple of seconds and then go back to tick. Could this mean the carbs need balancing? Or is it more likely to be an airleak? (Could the exhaust blowing a little bit cause this?) or could the chokes have seized again already?! (bearing in mind I unseized the plungers on friday.) spring in the plungers gone a bit weak?

you should notice a inconsistant stuttering on tick over if the carbs need balancing. Plus somethimes the needle may bob up and down.
When they are balanced properly your engine should have a nice harmonious song. When was the last time they were done. I've said before, it won't harm to have them done.
If you've done the chokes properly then they shouldn't need doing again, make sure you've put them back right and such. maybe check the plugs to see what its running..rich/lean.
I've said before if you have an air leak in a pipe, your bike pops n bangs like a trooper. Its very noticeable. Double check theres nowt blowing in that mangled mess on your downpipe!
Apart from that, I can't really help, cause I'm not there and somebody else will probably same I'm talking codswallop.
