We had a bit of frost here last night. Good job I took the pumpkins in yesterday. Now it's warmed up a bit I'll head down the path to the greenhouse and see how the last of the tomatoes are doing. Will probably bring most of them in to ripen on the kitchen windowsill.

Looks like it will be clear tonight but I doubt we'll see the Lights this far south.

I feel utterly cream crackered. However, both cars are now washed, dried, and hand waxed ready for the rubbish weather.

Bullseye was also treated to a wash yesterday, his first ever since purchase back in May. Anyone seeing me blowing most of the water off him with my leaf blower probably thought I was nuts... As he was nice and dry today I had a go at my first ever coating of ACF50. After watching reviews on the Tube I used an atomising trigger spray instead of the little fiddly job that came with the bottle. Warmed first in a bowl of hot water it was a right mess. Will let it drip down overnight and wipe off the excess tomorrow.

The sun must over a yard arm somewhere so I'm off for a reviving toddy to help my aching bones.

It's that time of year to add some protection I think even though I've not seen any salt used yet. I got out on the TA today and now have hyperthermia. Thank god for heated grips. Though I didn't see any salt on the roads I saw plenty of dried mud.

I got a lot of that mud on my bike, farmers have been farming a LOT around here and plastering crap all over the roads ...

We drove over to Vyrnwy on Saturday to see the Autumn colours. It was a beautiful day except for the drive there through a very heavy shower. The planned walk up to Rhiwagor Waterfall was abandoned due to the heavy rain but thing brightened up an hour or so later. Babysitting duties in the evening meant we didn't have time to do the walk later on. The trees were not quite at their best, so anyone with time to get up there this week will see a lovely autumn scene.

On a side note, good to see EV chargers being installed in the main car park below the dam.

Went to the Ponderosa today, arrived about 10:30 and was very surprised to find I was the only bike in the car park. I don't recall that ever happening before ... a couple of bikes turned up while I was having a coffee but it was unusually quiet for a sunny autumn day.

Managed to get out on the bike today. I didn't realise that Shropshire had so many lakes

Similarly, heading through the Cheshire / Wales border country on Friday, I was surprised how many fields were completely underwater (and how much run-off there was across the roads, which meant washing the bike AGAIN when I got home ).

We didn't get anything like that much rain over our side of Cheshire

Morning all. Back from our trip to Cumbria now. Lovely few days spent walking and relaxing, marred somewhat by both of us have pretty vile colds. I'm still coughing badly now, hoping it's going to clear up soon.

Big storm heading our way this evening apparently. As if the ground wasn't already wet enough!

GWS to both of you Gary. I've got a bit of a sniffle coming on after a few very tiring days on the road with work combined with a trip to see my parents before getting home late yesterday. Hopefully it won't get any worse but I'm not even contemplating a ride on the bike because of it. The pouring rain today is also a factor of course
