Hi Lily,

Sorry to hear about this, but it's definitely not worth losing your job over. Though finding a more tolerant employer could be tempting when the economy gets going again.

Keith.

That's not advice, that's a threat

It doesn't seem right that your company can dictate your out-of-work activities in this way, unless you are in a customer-facing role in which case it might be seen as undermining your work.

I have a friend who specialises in employment law that I could speak to about this if you like, but keeping your job is probably a safer long-term option than suing for wrongful dismissal and hoping you win your job back... or trying to get a job elsewhere.

It still sucks though.

(Thank goodness you found out about your company's draconian attitude before it was too late!)

Not worth losing your job over. However companies in certain lines of work don't appreciate a lady showing off her body in a prevocative way, as its not looked upon as good for business or reputation. Some are, as some may prefer 'old fashioned'.

I seem to recall an incident in news a couple of years ago that involved a policewoman posing for something or another, and she lost her job. Can't be promoting prostitution for want of a better word when you are an upstanding member of the law. Seem to remember a teacher the same..again, can't be a pin up on the side, when you are supposed to be showing good example to young people.

It is a shame, as its a good cause, but you have to look at it from another angle sometimes, much as its a great idea, you could land yourself in a lot of hot water that isn't worth doing it for. It doesn't matter how covered up or how nakid you are, or indeed how beautiful the photographer has made you look, showing flesh, even in the land of openmindedness, is still taboo.

Does anyone remember the Sarah Green safety clothing video. Wish she had been my English teacher. I dont think her bosses appreciated it.

Now my boss is quite nice and I get on well and have a laugh with her, however I've just had an hour meeting with her talking about the calendar and what my pictures are like etc.

I've been given advice by my boss that I don't do this! We got rid of a member of staff for being in FHM High Street Honeys, (I just thought we made her redundant- however that was one of the factors)

While it is only advice from my boss, I don't think I want to take the risk! I can't afford to lose my job, and if I tell my boss I am no longer doing the calendar the conversation shall not be taken out of her office! If i tell her tomorrow (as she has given me an evening to think on it) that I am still doing it, the FD and CE will be informed and it may result in notes on my file if not worse!
This is not a correct attitude from your boss. Have you explained the cause?

It's an extremely victorian attitude! Retain any correspondonce you have on this matter; I don't think its a sacakble "offence". Personally, I would start looking for antoher job...then leave the current position

Dont worry Lily, we can sort it so that someone can replace you honey.
Nothing is worth you getting stressed out or having problems at work because of this.

You looked amazing and everyone said you were a stunner.
Had a great time with you on the weekend and hope to do it again soon (and maybe I might even get you to buy a corset next time )
