Default Re: Anyone out Tomorrow-Sunday 21st???

I have the heating on full & all the windows open ( just like the wife always do in the summer!) to melt the forkin snow!!!!!!!1
Trusting in the forcast on BBC yesterday on the tinterweb which said 6'c today, so helping it along with the heating & waiting for it to defrost a bit.
Hope we will all be out later

It will have to be a miracle to get rid of what i have on my road, it never gets gritted as its a quiet road for traffic.

Just checked BBC weather line, says toads will be gone by mid-day & we will be getting sunny intervals, whatever they are.

Well OG you ain't getting a weatherspoons breakfast unless you walk or get in the cage!

2" in my road too, but as you say Phil, these back streets never get gritted. Not that grit helps all that much with snow anyway, salt stops water from freezing, it doesn't always stop already frozen water from settling on top, needs traffic to melt and mix it up a bit.

Once I'm dressed I'll take the dog for a walk and go see what the main roads are like. I don't mind riding out of my street with my feet down, but if the A34 out to the M42 is still slushy come midday, the there will be no chance of getting out on country roads.

I'm going to resign myself to not going, then if it's clear come lunchtime, it'll be a big bonus. Just far too frustrating and disappointing to live in hope all morning, then not be able to go.

About an inch hear......if it has thawed out by lunch, will venture out. My one worry though is areas like Fish Hill etc are quite high up......may not thaw as quick.

I think what ever we do we'll need to change our route as we've quite a few B roads in there that will not get enough traffic. I don't want to be riding in tyre tracks.

This side of Birmingham is quite high up too, Monkspath is 500 odd ft above sea level, hopefully down in the flood plains of the Avon where we are going it won't be as bad.
