LJ, to get it back into neutral, there is a rod connected to the gearbox, pull it to wards the back of the back until it wont go(as if you were going to bottom of gearbox), then obviously little click forward, should get it into neutral, wheel it about in gear to do it and it will deffo work. Get a mate to help ya, or the SV will really be down on top of you...

?500 is far over the odds, look out on ebay - even if you get the wrong colours, you can get them sprayed up.

I've got a LHS Yellow panel that I'll let you have for a tenner if you nee...

I had a similar thing happen at about 5-10 mph, cold tires, road and turning, luckily virtually no damage to the bike or me, that's really unlucky mate.
