OK, i most likely am going to get lost on finding this pub. Have printed the rac route of ttho but am confused by the bit that says, leave A3 by pass road. Is this the little sloppy bit that goes down and then u go round by that pointy building with ericson signs on it?

Yes, as you are coming down the hill into Guildford, don't take the 1st exit to Uni Tesco & Hospital but take the 2nd exit to Guildford. At the roundabout under the A3 go straight ahead to the right. Then you can take the first right (where you double back on yourself & go down past the Porsche garage) or probably easier to carry on to the big traffic lights & turn right to the centre. Once you're on the ring road in the Centre of Guildford take the exit to Godalming, then before the road bends to the right & goes up the hill, turn first left & carry on to the right to the end of the road & you'll see it on your right. Simple eh?

do i go as far as the premier inn by the cross roads?

blueto, the pub isn't terribly easy to find. I'd defo recomend getting someone's mobile number so you can get directions in case you get lost in Guildford. The one-way system in the middle of Guildford can be a bit confusing.
