Look, for generations us Jocks have been trying to get the upper hand on all you English folks.

Our time has finaly come!

Not only is the Prime Minister of the Uk a Jock (feel the love....lol) but we are at last in a position to do you all over once and for all!!

More carbon, thats what i say, another foot of rising seas will see half the M25 under water, London flooded out and all of us on the high ground looking smug!

Eth

PS - Ok its not us, its the rising 3rd world and China going through the industrial revolution we went through, its just that we now know just how much we stuffed the atmosphere up doing it and now have to watch someone 50 times bigger doing the same thing and we seem to think we know whats going to happen!

I don't know why people worry about their So-Called "Carbon Foot-print".
All these government and enviromental people keep "Fussing" about carbon-dioxide emissions, but they're worrying about the Wrong "Greenhouse gas".

METHANE is about 23 times more dangerous to the environment than C02.
Millions of cows emit it, and there's tons of the stuff bubbling out of "Permafrost lakes" in Siberia and Alaska.

Check this video out from a BBC program:
(involves setting fire to holes in lake)

Jeez. My initial point was that I was astounded that, accoridng to a website, my bike puts out more CO2 per year than our flat.

Got some good mileage this thread.............does that mean my footprint got bigger!?

It's been around for more than a few years. I remember hearing about global warming when I was a kid (80s). As you say, overnight however, it's suddenly become a man made certainty for no reason at all. More irritatingly, it's also become some sort of crazy fashion to pretend you give a crap.

That's what I meant earlier by bandwagon, for all those that doubted the existence of such a bandwagon

If the average carbon footprint were a size 7 mine must be a size 11! One bike, one 2 stroke genny, 2 cars, one van, and no double glazing and guess what...i cant use them all at f**ing once so it doesnt matter!
Im sick of being told about my impact on the world...i blame the industrial revolution over 100 years ago! Its all about marketing and using it against people. Sure i care about the enviroment but its a bit out of hand.

'Buy our xxxxxx it comes in smaller bottles/is made using recycled toilet paper/will save xxxx whatevers a year if we all had one so do your bit and buy it quick' AAAAAGH!

Ill buy what i want thank you! And I pay my taxes so there!

I do my bit by recycling and making the missus walk to work so why cant the govornment give us all a bit of a break. It is just the same going on at smokers recently...i dont smoke and i feel sorry for them but thats a whole new rant not for here

At full chat your bikes probably using in the order of 100,000 watts, that's a 1000 odd lightbulbs worth. Wouldn't need to run your bike for long to use more energy than your flat.
