i was thinking about something similar the other day, knives not handcuffs i had been cutting someplaster board using a stanley knife which i had put in my trouser pocket which i didn't notice until i was in the supermarket, could i have been done for that?

with regards to whether or not you could be done with the blade on your person well I have always thought that if it's a lockable blade it doesnt matter whether it is shorter then 3". I was having this discussions with some of the other technitions the other day and we all said that outside work it's just not advisable to have them on us unless we have to transport our tools in which case they should be in the tool box that is locked.
