he died on May 18, 2002, after suffering a heart attack while on vacation in Invermere, British Columbia with his girlfriend, Bruce Hart's estranged wife Andrea Redding. An autopsy revealed that past anabolic steroid use may have played a part in his death, however no certain reason was found. It is apparent that stress, serious injuries, and the use of drugs took its toll on the wrestler. Bruce Hart claimed "Davey paid the price with steroid cocktails and human-growth hormones." [22]
Before his death, Smith had been training with the intent of resuming his wrestling career, and had wrestled in three tag team matches with his son Harry the previous weekend. |

I met the Bushwackers 11 years ago when I was a student in Bristol. They were wrestling at an amateur match with Tatonka (that Indian guy) - he was still quite built, but fat. The Bushwackers were drunk. Great student days. Also met Jake The Snake and Honky Tonk Man.

![]() EDIT: just found this on Planet WWE "Trivia: The abbreviation for the DDT originally comes from the chemical dichloro-diphenyl-trichloroethane, a notorious pesticide (now banned in the United States). When asked what the DDT stands for Jake "The Snake" Roberts's famous reply was "the end". Other speculative names for the move include Damien's Dinner Time (named after Jake's famous pet Python), Death Drop Technique, and Drop Dead Twice."
