Got to be a LC4 - thinking of getting one myself. Can't help thinking a DRZ400 isnt really a Supermoto?

![]() it is a supermoto, just underpowered and heavy compared to competition supermotos, however on a tight twisty go-kart track i reckon it'll hustle as well as my 560 with all that torque low down, but as soon as a straight bit of track appears there's no substitute for power/weight ratio ![]()

I guess its what people define as a Supermoto. I think anything with silly service schedules, a rock hard narrow seat and totally bonkers performance is a Supermoto.
Bikes like the XT660, DRZ400 and 690sm are probably more streetmotos which are the luke warm versions. A lot easier to live with and have better manners. Personally Ive been thinking about getting the new Aprilia Pegaso as the next bike as I essentially want some fun at a slower pace. Its the same engine as the XT660 & MT03, has more power than the DRZ and is supposedly smoother than the KTMs. I would be tempted with one of the tamer KTM streetmotos but theyre apparently a nightmare for any distance.. These are bloody good value at the moment too with 06 models appearing on Ebay with no mileage for under £2500. (This is the tarted up factory model though) ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() the 625SMC and 660SMC are the better LC4 models, they have the better carb than the 640 (which is actually the same engine as the 625cc SMC) - the 660 is kick start only but you get the lighter bike with a bit more grunt as it's a proper 660cc
