Power is useable, I didn't abuse the throttle because i didn't want to loop a demo bike... i did manage WOT a few times and the speed pile son really quick. Once above 6k and settled (if you know what i mean) you can then give it some without feeling it'll throw you off... which tallies up with that torque curve above.

I have to say.... with more than 120bhp it would be easy to loose the licence quite quickly. A squirt in second gets you from 40-80 really quickly. change into third and use all the revs and you're getting close to a ban. In that respect the SV650 is a nice bike because you can use 100% performance more of the time.

I have to agree! The other day I over took my mates starting in 2nd hit the limiter change to 3rd hit the limiter. Maybe its the new chip but it smashes into the limiter sooooo easily. 3rd at limiter is about 125MPH I think from my calculations. Hope there want a camera!

So yes the SV650 is great in that you can thrash the knackers out of it and you still wont quite be in licence losing territory. Also why Litre IL4's now are just beyond silly...

What now then? Mod the sv beyond the gods maybe? nice new shock, sort out the front brakes, mess with the front suspension, maybe change sprockets around and any other mods you fancy? Think that's what I'm gonna do instead of selling for a few years

Aye sounds like a good plan to me. Gixxer forks (+ brakes etc - check my sig) maybe? Add some rear ride height to speed the steering...
