WTF man... You dont ever believe the facts! At the limiter in last gear the SV will be doing 145MPH... It cant get there as there isnt enough power, doesnt get around the fact that its geared for it.

Maybe you should sit down with a calculator and some gear ratio's and work it all out for your self.

You're right though, I would find it hard, but that's just because I've never done it/seen anyone do it, and to be honest don't have a clue about what balancing does, let alone how to do it

Ballancing them makes both cylinders work as hard as each other. If they arnt ballanced then one cylinder will be getting more air and fuel than the other! This will make the bike run like a dog. It could be easily causing back firing and your bike to hesitating like you mentioned.

It may be geared for it, but the fact is it still wont get there! as you say it has not got the powere to, so i am correct some peole are fookin optomistic/ deludedif they think a standard SV650 can crack 145MPH!!

so tahnk you you clown for backing me up in saying it cant do 145MPH, the reason it cant do it is of no concequence really is it?

Yes I was agreeing with you, but I was pointing out how far out the speedo's are at the same time. I had mine indicate 145 which might just be 130 in real life but that took a LONG steep hill.

Anyway ill leave it there... Ive harped on about speedo inaccuracy before.

No speedo inaccuracy here today cos I was riding with darylB - and the Telford & Wrekin IAM people. Noted the unusual riding footwear (slippers), had to stop for a few pipe stops, also that faint smell of an old people's home. Ah yes, urine. Met up at Dinky's Diner (Ford, west side of S'bury), ambled rather quick round the back lanes to the east side of town then through Much Wenlock, Cleobury Mortimer and Presteigne to Bleddfa near the Cross Gates - we had a Pan in our number, I didn't know that they corner so well. There was nothing slow about today's ride. Bit too quick, they don't hang around.

I had a near miss in Cleobury - some senile old goat on a scoot (open face helmet, plastic shoes, you get the picture) nearly knocked me off. I went to overtake him and as I started moving past he started indicating right and pulled sharply across the road. No lifesaver and no mirror check I gave it some beans and sailed past, had I stopped he'd have gone into my left leg. I have to eat some humble pie here - it was in a 30

I had a good days riding yesterday, I covered 250 miles around Northampton, easily done when I'm looking for new roads for rideouts*, just took a map and follwed my nose. Stopped of at Midlands Superbike and saw 2 kwaks and a Gixxer I thought about enquiring about, then thought better of it

Today was boring as i stayed in, but next weekend, whatever the weather i'll be out, i'll ride in anything and have fun.

*This does incur sore @rse syndrome.
